Thanks Selma for the support this weekend at the Alabama Crawfish RIver Fest. Although it was rain soaked, we made it work. It was a great time. Thank you to all of those who stood with me under that patio to keep the music going through the rain. You&rsquo;re the best and the reason we do what we do. Thanks also to Wayne Mills Band and all the other acts involved. We hope to see you all in Selma again really soon. Keep rockin&rsquo;

&nbsp; It is always a new experience going into a new venue. You never know what to expect and with the history of this bar, the pressure was on. As always,we did it and we did it right. We had a blast on May 7th at the famous Dixie Tavern in Georgia. We went in for a seven song set, and ended up coming out with a another show on the books. We are really looking forward to the next date at the Dixe Tavern June 29th. &nbsp;Are you perhaps going to be in Marietta on June 29th? Bring your friends and come on out. This will be the best show in the ATL that weekend. You don't want to miss this show. Let us know if your coming. We'll see you there. More news from the road coming soon. Stay tuned!

It's SPRING - NOTHING BUT AWESOME!

Hey Everybody,

I hope you&rsquo;ve had a great start to your spring!

What a great run from Indiana to Ohio, back through Kentucky, into North Carolina and wrapping up in my hometown of Montgomery, AL.

&nbsp;Special shout out to all those who supported us along the way, like our friends Kelsey in Bloomington, Nikki in Cleveland, Heather in Columbus, Tyler&rsquo;s and Colt&rsquo;s families in North Carolina, and Amber, Courtney and John in Montgomery. Also, a big shout out to some of our new friends that shared the stage, The Winter Sounds, Ty Franke, The Rooster&rsquo;s Crow, and Drake White.

This month has seen the start of several cool things and put us on the threshold of more to come.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

&nbsp;The video debuted on Ya&rsquo;llwire.com and immediately began climbing the charts thanks to you Team Moody peeps out there. The first week it was eligible it began the climb at no.4 on the Y&rsquo;allturnative Chart and 21 on the overall chart before hitting Number One! on both respective charts on April 15. In fact the video has climbed so quickly, that the folks at Ya&rsquo;llwire have decided to come out and film our show in Austin on June 14 at the Lucky Lounge! We hope that many of you will make the trek and become part of a unique part of our journey, as this will be our first live concert taping!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

If you haven't please view the video, rate it and favorite it. <a target="_new" href="http://www.yallwire.com/player/keithmoodyonebigending.html">www.yallwire.com/player/keithmoodyonebigending.html

Number One! New Discover and Uncover - Country for the entire month of March!! Boomshaqalacka!&nbsp;<a target="_new" href="http://iheartradio.com/new2/featured/f/3165">iheartradio.com/new2/featured/f/3165

&nbsp;Also, in April I was informed by some fans in a couple of states that they heard my song &ldquo;Lay It Down Easy&rdquo; in a Supercuts radio ad. We were selected last month to participate as an ambassador in the Supercuts Rock the Cut campaign. Heads up, they are giving away free Live Nation cash with a regular priced haircut this month while supplies last. <a target="_new" href="http://rockthecut.supercuts.com/Home/ViewArtists/114">rockthecut.supercuts.com/Home/ViewArtists/114

&nbsp; As we move into May we will see &ldquo;One Big Ending&rdquo; start rotation on US Airway&rsquo;s in flight radio for both domestic and international flights. So if you are taking to the air with US, please listen out for it and let me know how it sounds at a higher altitude.

Be on the lookout for the One Big Ending video playing in spots you may least expect it such as hotel lobbies, casinos and your favorite corner bar or department store. It has been picked up by a few video reels. If you see it somewhere, let me know!

&nbsp;We have had a few cool reviews and write ups we would love to share with you.

&quot;Keith Moody&rsquo;s Dreaming Out Loud is an album of another era, collection of soaring rock with terrific hooks and strong melodies. If Moody were 65, you&rsquo;d call it classic rock, but this is a young man who learned from the masters.&quot; ---The Americana Music Journal

&quot;Keith has an irresistible sound..... Put your windows down and go for a drive or play it for friends; no matter what you&rsquo;re doing while listening, Keith&rsquo;s music will put you in a better mood than you were before you listened. His lyrics are as uplifting as his melodies.&quot; ---Relate Magazine

&quot;Keith Moody is a talent above the rest. His latest release, &ldquo;Dreaming Out Loud&rdquo; is one of the coolest CD&rsquo;s I have heard in a long time. Moody takes the best of several genres and mesh them together creating a sound of perfection.&quot; --- Skope Magazine

&quot;Call it what you want - it's a fine album's worth of listening and Moody's vocal phrasing occasionally reminds me of Glen Phillips.&quot; --- Addicted to Vinyl

&quot;Very much worth a listen if you are a little starved for some rock music in 2012.&quot; --- Oldrocker1

&quot;His latest album, Dreaming out Loud, has an alternative sound with rock and country elements, all of which create a trifecta of near perfection. .....The songs are great. Moody, is even greater. Aside from being an instrumentalist, Moody&rsquo;s lyrics are what drive the album. They are true, deeper than those of even the best songwriters of our generation or generations past.&quot; --- ReviewFix

&quot;Moody is a very talented musician, and when listening to his music, it is obvious that he has a true passion for what he is doing. The album has something for everyones, casino's and your favorite corner bar or department store. It has been picked up by a few video reels. If you see it somewhere, let me know!, and it doesn&rsquo;t disappoint. ....This is a unique musician who has used genres such as rock, blues and country to make his own sound.&quot; --- Denver Rock Music Examiner

My Preseason MLB blog AL

&nbsp;Ok, so here we go with AL synopsis...

West

4. Seattle Mariners- Despite unloading a quality starter to the Yankees, the Mariners will be improved, but the real issue is, so will everyone else in the division. It's ok Seattle, one day things might get better. Just not happening this season.

3. Oakland Athletics- The A's will be better and if they do somehow get a couple of the guys we are hearing about, it could be Katie bar the door. I do belive however as it stands teh A's will be in the thick of teh wild card race come september, but without an influx of fresh faces, it will not be enough to get over the hump.

2. Anahiem Angles- The Angels add Pujols and CJ Wilson to a team that was already very talented. The hardest problem for the Angels may be getting rid of all the vets who aren't getting PT before the disgrunteled divide the clubhouse. That being said, I think they will be very much in the wild card chase.&nbsp;

1. Texas Rangers- The Rangers posess one of the best lineups in all of baseball, in fact they are one of the top 2 imho. True they lost a quality starter, but if Yu Darvish is half of what we have heard he is, the Rangers will be more than fine.&nbsp;

The Skinny- The West will shape up much how it is expected, but I feel the Rangers are best top to bottom, but look out for the A's here is they add a few of thr bargain bin free agents that are out there.

Central

5. Chicago White Sox- The White Sox really want to rebuild, but just haven't sent out the Memo yet. Konerko and Dunn are still good, and will eb great trade bate later in the year. The Sox lost their most consistent starter and have little bullpen depth. Also, imho Ozzie Guillen will be missed. This team reminds me of the 2011 Cubs.

4.Minnesota Twins- The Twins are one mor eyear away from contending and will need to take a step back to move forward next season. Cuddyer was still good and will be missed. They also let Jim Thome leave, who while being aged, was still very much a solid bat to have when needed.

3. Kansas City Royals- KC continues to improve, and might be knockign on the door of playoff contention come september. Like many other developing small market clubs, it will be intresting to see if they are willing to deal to get in or not.

2.Cleveland Indians- Cleveland added Casey Kotchman to this lineup and made themselves a serious wild card contender. The top 3 in the Indians rotation is more than capable, and a decent bull pen. The tribe will stay in this until the end.

1.Detriot Tigers- The Tigers may very well be the best team in baseball top to bottom. One of the top 5 lineups offensively and a great top 4 in their rotation that bolsters Justin Verlander. The most overlooked feature of this team is their extremely deep bull pen, which will help them in the post season.

The Skinny- The Central features two teams on the way down, two on the way up and another many feel will take the whole thing in october. Detriot runs away with this one, but the Royals and Indians will have a lot to say about who may be the wild card in the AL.

East

5. Toronto Blue Jays- Many pundits feel the Jays are playoff caliber...I don't. They may have the best power hitter in the division, but that is where their advantages stop. Encarnacion is good player, but if he is your DH, you have a power shortage in the East. The pitchign staff doesn;t make me feel all that warm either.

4. Baltimore Orioles- The Orioles have some great young offensive stars, but when you have Wilson Betemit as your DH in this division you are in trouble. If they can get Manny Ramirez and their young pitching comes together I could be way off...I just don't think I will be.

3.New York Yankees- The Yankees will look great in April, May and June...then the deficeincy in the pitching staff and thier age will start to show. The Yankees are great, but the whole division is good, and the grind will take its toll. Time to reload a bit in New York.

2.Tampa Bay Rays- The Rays will be able to pitch themselves into contention, and the young stars are ready to produce offensively. The pitching and youth are the difference over the Yankees.&nbsp;

1. Boston Red Sox- Remember last year when everyone loved Boston and said they could be one of the best teams ever in the preseason? I do, and if it weren't for pitching injuries, the Red Sox most likely do not collapse. Crawford won't be missed as much early as many think and Sweeney is a capable back up. The one big question is whether Bailey will nail down the closer role...I think he will.

The skinny- The East will be great as usual, but the wealth is starting to spread over the rest of the league. There will be two wild cards, but it will be tough to get more than one in with the fact the cellar dwellers &nbsp;will be good enough to ruin a weekend or two. If you don't believe me ask the Red Sox fans.

My AL playoff teams- Once again with the extra wild card this becomes tougher, but here we go....

Wild Cards- Tampa Bay Rays and Anaheim Angels
West- Texas Rangers
Central- Detroit Tigers
East- Boston Red Sox

I feel the Rays will knock off the Angels in the Wild Card Round. Pitching beats offense. They will then move on to rematch the Texas Rangers in the next round. The Rangers will get past the Rays again in 5 games. The Tigers will roll into the postseason as the number 1 seed in the East and will host the Sox, who will beat them in 4 games. This will mean the Boston Red Sox will host the Texas Rangers in Fenway for game one. This will be an epic series and will go the full seven games to Fenway where the Red Sox will prevent the Rangers from making their third straight World Series.&nbsp;

My World Series prediction- I feel this year the AL will win the Allstar game, so Boston will have home field. The Series will go a full seven games very similar to last year in feel and excitement. This time however the Red Sox will knock off the Cardinals in seven and be World Champions for the third time in a decade.

So there you have it, as it is now, I pick the Red Sox to beat the Cardinals in 7 games. It will be intresting to see if I still have this opinion after spring training.

My Preseason MLB blog NL

Well they are loading up the trucks and headed south to Florida and Arizona, so I will start chiming in with my picks and why I believe they come to fruition as of now. I will reassess all my picks once training camp breaks on opening day.

I will count them down with my last place team up to my first place team.

West

5. San Diego Padres- The reason I put the Pads here is simple. They probably as of right now have fewer MLB ready assets than any club in this division. The Padres farm system is producing but the crop isn't ready to be picked yet.

4.Arizona Diamondbacks- I put the Dbacks at 4 with a disclaimer, &quot;anyone in the top four can win this thing.&quot; &nbsp;The reason I believe they finish looking up at 3 butts in the same division is this...less pitching than the other 3. With the addition of Guthrie in Colorado, the Rockies now have a playoff caliber first four and an experienced 5. They still seem to lag behind the Dodgers and Giants on that front as they both possess some of the best arms in baseball. In fact arms so good teams that are already deep would still take them.

3.Los Angeles Dodgers- The Dodgers didn't get that much better, but in a league and a division where there aren't that many premier offensive stars, the dodgers can pitch their way into a playoff chase easily. What makes the Dodgers an attractive choice to be a dark horse to go deep into October for me is this. They have the only arm in the division not residing in San Francisco that could match guys like Halladay, Lee and Carpenter in the playoffs frame for frame. They also bolster an underrated big 3 in their lineup in Loney, Kemp and Ethier. Guerra is an underrated closer as well. They will stay in this thing right until the last week and have a chance to win the division. If they can get in the playoffs, they will scare people and remind me a lot of the 2010 Giants team that won the title.

2.San Francisco Giants- Honestly the offense doesn't make me feel warm inside at all, but the pitching is just that good. I had them finishing ahead of the Rockies before the addition of Guthrie, and really feel that my 1 and 2 are more or less a and b, with Dodgers really being c. I feel that from 1 to 4 there is no real descernable differences. Some teams have strenghts in some places that contrast others.&nbsp;

1.Colorado Rockies- As I pointed out before, all these teams will be able to pitch...in fact the Rockies probably have a thinner staff than the Dodgers and Giants, however they have a top notch offensive lineup, probably the best top to bottom in this division and that is the Xfactor. Remember they play in a park where you need to be able to mash your way through at times and they will be more than capable.The addition of Cuddyer is huge, and probably the biggest aquistion in the division this off-season.&nbsp;

The Skinny on the West- With so many teams evenly matched, and the addition of a new Wild Card the west will truely be wild in 2012.

Central

6. Houston Astros- The Astros are in rebulding mode...it is what it is. They will be picking fruit from the farm in time for their big AL move and it will be fun to watch the young guys develop for the fans. Think Tampa circa 2006.

5.Chicago Cubs- The Cubs will be an interesting team to watch, and my gut tells me they will do something unexpected, but my head tells me they will just not have enough this year. That being said this team reminds me of the &quot;moneyball&quot; A's...excpet the rotation isn't in that league on paper, but has the potential to be very good. They have amassed a lot of guys that other teams didn't think much of, but seem to improve the club overall. &nbsp;What is most interesting to watch will be if Hoyer and Epstein can get value for guys, will they trade in July? With the real possiblity of a 5th team in the playoffs, the Cubs and other teams like them could be in the thick of it in the second half and have a big dilemna...go for this now, or trade guys to build a better franchise and probably anger fans in the immediate.

4.Pittsburgh Pirates- The Pirates will be good, in fact once again if the extra wild card happens it will benefit teams like the Pirates big time, and as the past has shown us, if you can get in the playoff tournement who knows what can happen. This outfield is way underrated by people, and so is the pitching staff. I will make a bold statement and say the Bucs will be with in 5 games of the wildcard when teams could make a deal to put themselves over top at the deadline. The problem is, can they and will they?

3.Milwaukee Brewers- The Brewers are one of those teams that can definatley grab the wildcard. They will miss Prince Fielder, there is no way not too. However having Aramiz Ramirez cushions the fall. The real problem here is Ryan Braun, with a staff that can pitch them into the great masses with a legit shot at the post season, losing Braun for a huge amount of time is a negative kind of game changer. It takes Milwaukee from being a great 3 punch lineup team to a team like the Giants and Dodgers. Problem is, the Brewers have to play the Reds and Cardinals.

2.Reds- With Ryan Braun for a full season, I wouldn't have picked the Reds here. It would have been close, but Braun is just that good. As it is now, the Reds have a better lineup for more games and an equivelent pitching staff with Matt Latos onboard.

1.The Cardinals- Yeah they lost Pujols, but the move of Berkman to first and the signing of Beltran will make this club still one of the best 3 or 4 offensive lineups in the NL. The biggest things is the addition of Wainwright back to an already deadly good pitching staff. The Red Birds will battle the Phills for the 1 seed in the NL right down to the wire, and I think they win the Central by 5 games or so.

The Skinny- The Central hasn't been talked about as much as it should with all the movement in the East, but it would be almost as good with Ryan Braun and a better publicist in Pittsburgh. I think the Cards will win it fairly easily, and four more teams have a shot at one of the two wild cards.

East

5. New York Mets- I hate it, but it its what it is. The Mets have two really good bats and a better than advertised pitching staff. It seems the Mets could literally change the level at what this team could achieve with a move or two, but hasn't seemed to want to. As it stands now I pick eth Mets last in the division mainly because they stood pat and let other teams pass them and even gave up and all star ss to an indivision rival. The bright side to all this is, if teh Mets decide to hang with what they have they will not have much payroll going out and one would think that would give them an opportunity to go after some very large fish next offseason like Cole Hamels.

4.Washington Nationals- The Nats were a prince away from being Kings...well at least of the Wild Card. The Nats have a very good staff and good lineup, but not enough thunder to put them on top of one of the best divisions in baseball. That being said they will be in the thick of the Wild Card anyway, and will have to make a decision about how much winning now means to them near the deadline.

3.Atlanta Braves-&nbsp;The Braves have the second best rotation in the division and probably the third best lineup. The real issue here is whether all the key cogs in this one will stay healthy for an entire season. I am going to say no. That being said like the Nats and Marlins, they will be with in distance of the two wild card spots in the last week or so of the season.

2.Miami Marlins- The Marlins added a lot of key pieces to a team that while having quite a few young stars and three solid young starters, badly underachieved in 2011. The most important addition however may be Ozzie Guillen their new manager. This team is put together very similarly to the 2005 White Sox team he took to a title. Also, the xfactor here is Carlos Zambrano. Big Z as he was known in Chicago looked liked the best pitcher in baseball at times, but the pressure of the fish bowl at Wrigley and the frustration of not winnign took it's toll. Zambrano will now have the best stuff of any 4th starter in the league, and Guillen seems to understand the big right hander better than anyone. This team could probably take any division outside of this one in the NL.

1.Philladelphia Phillies- I know they won't have Ryan Howard for a bit, but it sure is nice when you can plug a future Hall of Famer in to cover for him until May. Simply just as last year the fightin' Phills will have the best pitching staff perhaps in all of baseball and probably one of the top 2 lineups in the NL. The Phillies only obstacle from a one seed is a tough division that will bring their record down enough for the Cardinals to have a shot.

The Skinny- This division may be the deepest in baseball, but the Phillies are only team in the NL that top to bottom scares the big boys in the AL. In fact now when they play in AL parks in interleague or if they should make a World Series, they will have Jim Thome to come off the bench and DH. Philladelphia is definetly in the conversation for best team in baseball, but talk is cheap. They have to put up in October. With all that being said the division would probably produce two wild cards if the fact playing each other wouldn't hurt their respective records so much. Still I believe they will get two in.

My NL playoff teams- With the extra wild card this will be tough, and really half eth league has a better than optimistic chance because of this, but here it goes...

Wild Cards- San Francisco Giants and Miami Marlins
West- Colorado Rockies
Central-&nbsp;St. Louis Cardinals
East- Philladelphia Phillies

I feel the Giants will upset the Marlins and move on to play the Phillies. In fact the Giants will go deeper than expected because they will essentially be playing playoff style baseball and winning all year. It will get em in and give them a great chance at october glory. &nbsp;Meanwhile the Rockies and Cards play and epic 5 gamer, with St. Louis coming out on top. The Phills and Giants will go 5 as well, and the Giants upset them. So the Giants and Cards will square off with the Cards taking the NLCS in 6 games. Check my upcoming AL blog to see who they will be playing.

Central- St.

Meanwhile the Rockies and Cards play and epic 5 gamer, with St. Louis coming out on top. The Phills and Giants will go 5 as well, and the Giants upset them. So the Giants and Cards will square off with the Cards taking the NLCS in 6 games. Check my upcoming AL blog to see who they will be playing.

Ettacation

&nbsp;Some shoes just can&rsquo;t be filled. Every time an artist dies, sometimes it feels like a part of our musical soul dies with them. There will never be another Etta James. When the news broke that Etta had left us I immediately went into my version of musical mourning.&nbsp; I reached into the aluminum basket which holds my compact discs and popped in her greatest hits.
&nbsp; I often wonder what went through Leonard Chess&rsquo;s mind the first time he heard her sing. See nobody will ever be found that raw again. Etta was technically &ldquo;trained&rdquo; but not the way people are today. She was beaten and forced to sing. She never knew who her father was and her mother was absent most of the time and by all accounts tough.
&nbsp;&nbsp; See all that pain was in every note. Yet she still exuded a class and sophistication at the same time. Guts and confidence seemed to stream from her. Music like that is worth more than any price tag that can be put on it.
&nbsp;&nbsp; So if you have time, drink to Etta and put her on your listening apparatus whatever it may be, and just soak in what has left us and what we can never truly get back. True greatness is great because it rarely comes along, in fact sometimes only once.&nbsp;

2012 Time to Get Rolling

Hello everyone,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Time to get rolling - new year, new album, new tour. This is one of the most exciting times and anxious times for an artist. You are releasing a part of your soul in a new album with all of the expectation of how it will impact those that hear it. Thanks to the talented Ryan Russell for the photo and Stephen Burton for the artwork in the cover above.

Dreaming Out Loud is dedicated to you. The album consists of 11 songs with 7 new songs and remastered versions of the four songs from the Lines EP. They say an artist has a work that he just knows needs to be heard. Well that is what Dreaming Out Loud is to me. It was inspired by my 6 year journey as a solo artist which is evident by some of the song titles such as Long Way Up, New Distraction, Lay It Down Easy, I Don't Know (Who The Bad Guys Are Anymore), Already Home, Plastic Hearts and One Big Ending.

The first single, One Big Ending, was released on January 10th and the&nbsp;<a target="_new" href="./video.cfm">Video&nbsp;was released on January 17th.

The inspiration for this song is the idea that you have to fight for your soul in a very apathetic world. You can easily just follow the defined &quot;plan&rdquo; or make your own path. Those paths are different for everyone.

The &ldquo;heroine&rdquo; of the story is told from the time she is small that &ldquo;Look this is how life is&hellip;this is what you&rsquo;re supposed to do&rdquo;. She doesn&rsquo;t see it that way and refuses to succumb to the pressure of living the way everyone expects or thinks she should. I feel the last barrier to personal freedom is just allowing everyone to live their life their way, free of judgment and pressure.

God only gives us one life and we aren&rsquo;t guaranteed how long we get, so it is very important to seek those things we need to be happy and let everyone else seek theirs. The song embodies in this woman&rsquo;s story a sort of victory anthem for doing your own thing, living your life your way and being victorious in finding those things that make you happy.

Also, big props to my friend, Jamie Jean, who did an outstanding job directing the video! It's truly a blessing to work with great people!

Recent News

September was a great month for me as I went to Birmingham, AL and recorded a brand new record. Jason Elgin, Synchromesh Studios, did an outstanding job on the project and I look forward to releasing it as soon as possible.

I think the most notable tracks will be &ldquo;Long Way Up&rdquo;, &quot;One Big Ending&rdquo; and &ldquo;New Distraction&rdquo;. Personally I can&rsquo;t wait for you guys and gals to get a listen. I will keep you updated, so please make sure to check the website as we will be leaving morsels from the new release there up until the release date.

October has seen us play our first festival of the fall as we headlined the Alabama Cotton Festival in Eclectic AL. This was a great time, and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was also a special treat to play in front of family and friends from the central Alabama area, which as you know will always be home. Specifically I want to give a shout out to Zoey, who is only 2 months old, and has already been to her first Keith Moody show. &nbsp;Shout out to my friend in Australia, hang in there!!

November takes us back to Texas and Louisiana for performances at Rock the Republic festival in Bryan, TX; Big Apple Deli in Synder, TX; Schotzi&rsquo;s in College Station, TX; The Rustic Cowboy in Keithville, LA (<a href="http://keithmoody.com/tourdates.cfm">Tour Dates&nbsp;Click here for details)

Be sure to go over and check out the new live shots from my friend Jonalan Wright and the new press photos taken by our friend Ryan Russell. I personally think they look very rocking. (<a href="http://keithmoody.com/pictures.cfm">Pictures&nbsp;Click here)

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Peace,
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Keith
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

I guess its all about money...

Working in the entertainment field, the smell of funny money is all around you. One after one the &ldquo;pop-stars in a box&rdquo; roll forward. After being at this for roughly a dozen years in some capacity I have had no problems just taking it as &ldquo;it is what it is.&rdquo; The issue that begins to rip open my heart however is that literally everything around us is seemingly about money, and it has succeeded in making everything superficial.

Lets start with politics. If one really wants to grasp what is flawed in our system simply look at the fact that money controls all flow of ideas. Right now the Democrats and Republicans square of daily on everything, hiding behind the mirage of left and right all the while getting absolutely nothing accomplished. The reason nothing is accomplished you might ask? Pretty simple really, the current rules in place on campaign finance may allow for equal time, but in no way allows for equal money. Historically the United States evolved ideologically largely in part because of third parties and &ldquo;rogue&rdquo; ideas being able to gain steam and demand attention. In this day and time, the best candidate could theoretically never be heard, while however the &ldquo;loudest&rdquo; or richest of the candidates always will be.

Lets depart from here and head to the world of sports. Now its not my place to say who is wrong or right in the current NCAA controversies, but lets be honest. It was obviously about the &ldquo;Benjamins&rdquo;. No, I&rsquo;m not even directly referencing the bills in the pockets of &ldquo;amateur&rdquo; athletes like Terell Pryor, or for that matter the one solicited by Cecil Newton, I am simply speaking of the business that is sports. NCAA athletes get stuff under the table every day, while it may be conjecture, I know this almost with an amazing amount of certainty, but when it is proven that &ldquo;amateur&rdquo; athletes solicited funds by selling memorabilia or by family members out right asking for a handout, I have to feel a little sick. Obviously (insertbs).com or (insert soft drink logo), or (insert chip company) wouldn&rsquo;t influence the NCAA? I mean the NCAA is a not-for-profit organization? Right?

Lets also not ignore the fact that people in this country can become celebrities just for being rich. In fact, even if they did nothing to earn the money. Please reference Paris Hilton here. I mean really, ask yourself what did she EVER do to become famous. Realize the sex tapes came after she was known, so did being on that terrible FOX reality show with Nicole Richie.

I guess my real issue is not with money after all, maybe the variable in all this is the public. We the People as we are referred to in the constitution. I mean is there anybody out there who would like a little substance&hellip;just once? I hope I&rsquo;m not alone, but as time goes by I grow more and more pessimistic.

Band vs. Food!

So, I have had a few requests for recommendations on what my favorite places to eat are when on the road. Well that being said, I have decided to make you a list.

1. Magnolia Caf&eacute; - Austin, TX - This one is easy&hellip;..where else can you eat nutritious and be bad at the same place&hellip;at any time of day and come away satisfied. I have had a salad, tacos and breakfast here and it&rsquo;s all top notch. Make sure to eat here is you are in my favorite place to visit on the planet.
2. Giordano&rsquo;s Pizza - Chicago, IL - Ok, I&rsquo;m sure some of you New Yorkers will cringe&hellip;.but Chicago style deep dish pizza for me is THE ULTIMATE JUNK FOOD to me. No way around it&hellip;.if you are in Chicago you have to do it. Thanks to demand and the growth of its name luckily there are now Giordano&rsquo;s in other places throughout Chicago and even in Florida.
3. The Rendezvous - Memphis, TN - Best Ribs&hellip;.period. This is the place that made dry rub ribs famous. Located down an alley in Memphis, just ask when you are in the Beale St. area and they will point you to it.
4. Bob Baumhower&rsquo;s Wings - Tuscaloosa, AL- If you eat here the wings are a given&hellip;.however get the gooey fries and the triple play cheeseburger&hellip;.or if you don&rsquo;t want a coronary get the Caesar salad.
5.Fuzzy&rsquo;s Taco Shop- Ft. Worth, TX- Basically this one is easy&hellip;.and Taco is good so are the burritos&hellip;make sure you try the famous &ldquo;Butt Burning Sauce&rdquo;
6. Fezzo&rsquo;s- LaFayette, LA- Best ettoufe EVER!!!! If you see the sign on I-10&hellip;make sure to stop. Get the trio&hellip;best deal on the menu.
7. The Hamburger King -Montgomery, AL -The best burger in Alabama&hellip;.period. They cook it to order and burgers come basically with or without cheese and your choice of toppings. I am a Dr.Pepper fan myself, but at this place get the root beer. Trust me.
8. Fellini&rsquo;s Pizza- Atlanta, GA- I am a huge fan of the gourmet white. New York style and it is outstanding. However, basically any pizza here is great.
9. Sharon&rsquo;s Barbeque- Abilene, TX- Best BBQ beef I have ever had&hellip;must stop when in Abilene.
10. The Southfork Restaurant - Gurdon, AR- Right off the interstate and located in a truck stop, this place is one of the best any time of day eating places anywhere. The omelets put 5 star restaurants to shame, and they have a little bit of everything. So make sure if you are traveling on I-30 east or west&hellip;stop and give em&rsquo; a try. Also, the sweet tea&hellip;its sex.

Til next time&hellip;safe travels and happy eating.

Kind of like drugs.....

So, if you will imagine a 14 year old Keith. Everyday he gets picked up by his dad, heads home and is anxious in anticipation to get there. Not to see the cute girl across the street, not to play football with his friends, but to head to his room and listen. I would almost sprint back to my room to turn on the stereo. It was a mixture everything that is great about music. In those days it was: The Beatles, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, SRV, Wille Nelson, The Allman Brothers, ZZ Top.....it was if the Rock n' Roll Hall of fame resided in my small entertainment center. I thristed for more and more. It was about this time I noticed guitars. I had known what a guitar was my whole life probably, but I never really considered the guitar. Pondered it if you will. Mark Knoffler once said &quot;There is nothing sexier than a guitar&quot;. While I can argue with the honesty of the statement, I can not necessarily deny&nbsp;his claim whole heartedly&nbsp;either.&nbsp;See, once I realized the guitar&nbsp;was responsible for all this....I had to have one.&nbsp;They called to me from magazines.....acoustic and electric alike. All shapes and sizes, all brands and colors. See&nbsp;once the bug bites you, it bites hard and&nbsp;NEVER EVER lets go. There are so many possiblities just in an electric guitar....body wood, neck wood, fretboard wood, binding, no binding....what the&nbsp;binding will be made of&nbsp;if one chooses binding, pickups, how&nbsp;many pickups.....how the pickups switch....and once you&nbsp;know all these things, you are officially in trouble.&nbsp;

I remember the day three years later I walked into Metro Music in Montgomery, AL and bought my first acoustic guitar. It was an emerald green G series Takamine. I still have it eventhough its not really playable&nbsp;anymore. My grandfather&nbsp;was the one who got it for me. See he listened to&nbsp;the Grand Ole Opry religiously and watched Austin City Limits every&nbsp;week. Eventhough everyone&nbsp;else in my family&nbsp;was more than relcutant to beleive I would see this guitar thing through at first, he wanted so badly to have a &quot;real&quot; musician in the family, he worked extra shifts as a grocery bagger at Kroger to get me that first guitar. Looking back, maybe it was selfish to&nbsp;even take&nbsp;the money,&nbsp;but I suspect he wouldn't&nbsp;have&nbsp;let me turn it down anyway.

I&nbsp;sat for hours in my room watching a dvd learning those first&nbsp;chords. Within a&nbsp;month I was writing songs and had accumulated two more guitars within the year. Both were&nbsp;electric, a Telecaster and a Les Paul.&nbsp;These&nbsp;were of&nbsp;the Korean made variety, but the first amp came&nbsp;with them and chords gave way to scales, and the next thing I remember I&nbsp;could solo. The better I got the more gear I wanted. More guitars and more amps. Over that next year I got my first &quot;real&quot; guitar a PRS McCarty. I picked everything about her. Birds, Non-ten Michigan Maple top, &quot;no binding&quot; around the top, and I was in heaven. This guitar is still the one I reach for most often. The guitars name is Blue, because she is blue...not really original I know, but it works. The thing is, guitars don't get jealous like people so you keep reaching. Next was a&nbsp;second PRS&nbsp;it was a Red CE-24, next was Marla a Blonde Taylor 614ce.&nbsp;&nbsp;After that there was a Fender Stratocaster, a Tom Anderson Hollow Drop Top, a Gibson 135, a black Gibson SG names Kate, a strat I built called &quot;franken strat&quot;, and I will stop there, though my aquisition of guitars did not stop here. See to guys like me who&nbsp;play constantly, they arent things, guitars are tools for our trade, alters for sacrifices to&nbsp;God of our talent, a part of our&nbsp;body.....the guitar crosses into a weird place, no longer an inadimate object, but a&nbsp;passion somewhere between a scroll&nbsp;of knowledge, a child, prayer beads and a lover.....but always an addiction, not quite, but kind of like drugs.&nbsp;

So, if you will imagine a 14 year old Keith. Everyday he gets picked up by his dad, heads home and is anxious in anticipation to get there. Not to see the cute girl across the street, not to play football with his friends, but to head to his room and listen. I would almost sprint back to my room to turn on the stereo. It was a mixture everything that is great about music. In those days it was: The Beatles, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, SRV, Wille Nelson, The Allman Brothers, ZZ Top.....it was if the Rock n' Roll Hall of fame resided in my small entertainment center. I thristed for more and more. It was about this time I noticed guitars. I had known what a guitar was my whole life probably, but I never really considered the guitar. Pondered it if you will. Mark Knoffler once said "There is nothing sexier than a guitar". While I can argue with the honesty of the statement, I can not necessarily deny his claim whole heartedly either. See, once I realized the guitar was responsible for all this....I had to have one. They called to me from magazines.....acoustic and electric alike. All shapes and sizes, all brands and colors. See once the bug bites you, it bites hard and NEVER EVER lets go. There are so many possiblities just in an electric guitar....body wood, neck wood, fretboard wood, binding, no binding....what the binding will be made of if one chooses binding, pickups, how many pickups.....how the pickups switch....and once you know all these things, you are officially in trouble.

I remember the day three years later I walked into Metro Music in Montgomery, AL and bought my first acoustic guitar. It was an emerald green G series Takamine. I still have it eventhough its not really playable anymore. My grandfather was the one who got it for me. See he listened to the Grand Ole Opry religiously and watched Austin City Limits every week. Eventhough everyone else in my family was more than relcutant to beleive I would see this guitar thing through at first, he wanted so badly to have a "real" musician in the family, he worked extra shifts as a grocery bagger at Kroger to get me that first guitar. Looking back, maybe it was selfish to even take the money, but I suspect he wouldn't have let me turn it down anyway.

I sat for hours in my room watching a dvd learning those first chords. Within a month I was writing songs and had accumulated two more guitars within the year. Both were electric, a Telecaster and a Les Paul. These were of the Korean made variety, but the first amp came with them and chords gave way to scales, and the next thing I remember I could solo. The better I got the more gear I wanted. More guitars and more amps. Over that next year I got my first "real" guitar a PRS McCarty. I picked everything about her. Birds, Non-ten Michigan Maple top, "no binding" around the top, and I was in heaven. This guitar is still the one I reach for most often. The guitars name is Blue, because she is blue...not really original I know, but it works. The thing is, guitars don't get jealous like people so you keep reaching. Next was a second PRS it was a Red CE-24, next was Marla a Blonde Taylor 614ce. After that there was a Fender Stratocaster, a Tom Anderson Hollow Drop Top, a Gibson 135, a black Gibson SG names Kate, a strat I built called "franken strat", and I will stop there, though my aquisition of guitars did not stop here.
Sometimes you reflect.....

As I type this, I find myself thinking back to where I came from. When God is seemingly laying the carpet in front of you, while it is rarely devoid of snares, it still&nbsp;leads you to ponder where you have been. So, as I drift back from memory lane, I have decided to share some of the things that has made this journey from teenage &quot;guitar hero&quot; to twenty something &quot;road warrior&quot; so enjoyable. Although it perhaps was not always so enjoyable at the time.

Well we have so much to do and seem that there is not enough time! Being an independant artist is also like a family business! If you haven't noticed I have added a newest member, Steve Satre. We go by his middle name, &quot;Manny&quot; which is short for his middle name, Emmanuel. Why did we do this? Because we also have a drummer name Steve. So it's less confusing! Steve-&quot;Manny&quot; has been a great help and is slowly taking over the media area and updating what we need done. If you have any suggestions or just want to blog on us, feel free to! This is what it's for. We want to hear back from you the audience and friends. So thanks for reading and hope to see you at the next show!
