Ettacation

Some shoes just can’t be filled. Every time an artist dies, sometimes it feels like a part of our musical soul dies with them. There will never be another Etta James. When the news broke that Etta had left us I immediately went into my version of musical mourning.  I reached into the aluminum basket which holds my compact discs and popped in her greatest hits.   I often wonder what went through Leonard Chess’s mind the first time he heard her sing. See nobody will ever be …

Dreaming Out Loud

Hey everybody, 2011 is winding down and what a year! All of us on the Keith Moody Music team are excited to catch you up on all the things that have kept us busy. First things first, I would like to express my gratitude to all those who came out and supported and sometimes discovered us during our 18 month long Lines tour. Thank you to ………. GOD for another year of doing what I love and taking my breath away with your creations such as my first view of the Pacific Ocean and the new …

I guess its all about money...

Working in the entertainment field, the smell of funny money is all around you. One after one the “pop-stars in a box” roll forward. After being at this for roughly a dozen years in some capacity I have had no problems just taking it as “it is what it is.” The issue that begins to rip open my heart however is that literally everything around us is seemingly about money, and it has succeeded in making everything superficial. Lets start with politics. If one really wants to grasp …

Band vs. Food!

So, I have had a few requests for recommendations on what my favorite places to eat are when on the road. Well that being said, I have decided to make you a list. 1. Magnolia Café - Austin, TX - This one is easy…..where else can you eat nutritious and be bad at the same place…at any time of day and come away satisfied. I have had a salad, tacos and breakfast here and it’s all top notch. Make sure to eat here is you are in my favorite place to visit on the planet. 2. …

Kind of like drugs.....

So, if you will imagine a 14 year old Keith. Everyday he gets picked up by his dad, heads home and is anxious in anticipation to get there. Not to see the cute girl across the street, not to play football with his friends, but to head to his room and listen. I would almost sprint back to my room to turn on the stereo. It was a mixture everything that is great about music. In those days it was: The Beatles, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, SRV, Wille Nelson, The Allman …

Sometimes you reflect.....

As I type this, I find myself thinking back to where I came from. When God is seemingly laying the carpet in front of you, while it is rarely devoid of snares, it still leads you to ponder where you have been. So, as I drift back from memory lane, I have decided to share some of the things that has made this journey from teenage "guitar hero" to twenty something "road warrior" so enjoyable. Although it perhaps was not always so enjoyable at the time.

Update

Well we have so much to do and seem that there is not enough time! Being an independant artist is also like a family business! If you haven't noticed I have added a newest member, Steve Satre. We go by his middle name, "Manny" which is short for his middle name, Emmanuel. Why did we do this? Because we also have a drummer name Steve. So it's less confusing! Steve-"Manny" has been a great help and is slowly taking over the media area and updating what we need done. If you have any suggestions or just want to blog on us, feel free to! This is what it's for. We want to hear back from you the audience and friends. So thanks for reading and hope to see you at the next show!

First two weeks in the books!
The first two weeks have gone very well. We crissed crossed Texas, hit up Shreveport, LA and Little Rock, AR for the first time. As I type this we are preparing to move further along the road and into the year with dates in Memphis, St. Louis and Evansville. We are adding new dates all the time with the diligent work of Steve the Drummer, so make sure to check those out and let us know if there is anywhere we missed. Also, make sure to come over and check out all the new content we will be adding on the site, and also follow us on Twitter, because we give our followers many opportunities at content in real time and up to the minute. Sometimes even shots at free stuff, and we all know that is the best kind of stuff.

Well for now Blessings and peace to you all,
Keith

2010 LINES TOUR

I am very excited about getting dates on the books for our next tour. We are playing Billy Block's show in Nashville on December 29th to finish out what has proven to be an outstanding 2009. January will then have us intensely rehearsing, and then its off to TEXAS for the start of 2010. Texas, what an incredible place to play! They love their music and we aim to play them some!! After Texas we have dates coming in across the mid west from Missouri to Indiana. Nothing gets me more pumped than knowing I will get to meet new and old fans and play, play, play!!!! Stay tuned as this is only the beginning as my "mighty" team and I are hard at work booking the rest of the year.
